Who’s Excited for The Roswell Reboot?
The CW is bringing back the show Roswell, 15 years after the last episode of the three season series in 2002. This time, the show will be called Roswell, New Mexico, and fans can expect a fresh spin on the original.
The Original Roswell
For those who haven’t seen the show or read the books, this young adult sci-fi series is about aliens living as humans in Roswell, New Mexico. The original cast members included Katherine Heigl, Shiri Appleby, Emilie de Ravin, and Colin Hanks.
The New Roswell, New Mexico
One of the biggest changes to the show will be a focus on immigration themes and the realities of living near the border. Aside from the aliens, one of the main human characters is actually the child of an illegal immigrant. Executive producer Kevin Kelly Brown, from the original series, will be an executive producer for the reboot as well; everyone else behind the scenes will bring fresh eyes to the show. That includes Carina Adly MacKenzie, who wrote The Originals, as an executive producer of Roswell, New Mexico. New cast members will include Jeanine Mason from Grey’s Anatomy, Tyler Blackburn from Pretty Little Liars, and Nathan Parsons from True Blood.
