Roswell, New Mexico—is not just a place for aliens. This town’s most recognizable for the alleged infamous alien landing in the 1960’s, but this is a fun town in southeastern New Mexico for both humans and extraterrestrials alike.
The city boasts a number of alien themed shopping opportunities, including the UFO Museum where you can find an alien on just about any souvenir item. Also, if you happen to be visiting over the 4th of July holiday you can enjoy the annual UFO Festival. Once you’ve enjoyed all the “out of this world” fun that you can, there are plenty of local hotspots you’ll want to visit.
If you are looking for a great day enjoying the beauty of Roswell, you’ll want to plan a visit to Bottomless Lakes State Park or Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge. During the summer months Roswell hosts a number of concerts along the river, showcasing the talents of some well-known musicians. The Spring River Park and Zoo is a great place to take the entire family, especially to take a spin on the antique carousel.
